HONORING 2 DECADES OF MARKING MILESTONES: 2017 FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

The 23rd MCNP and 20th ISAP founding anniversaries were hailed last February 20- 24 2017 at the MCNP-ISAP grounds with the theme “Marking Milestones in the Holistic Development of Mighty Eagles”.

Various contested activities were done during the four-day festivity and was partaken by the different competing teams which include White team (BSCA, BSBA, BSIT, BSCOE, BSIT, and BSBA), Red (BST, BSHRM, BSCRIM, BSED, and BSSW), Green team (BSRT), Blue team (BSPHARMA, BSN and 2 yr. courses) Yellow team (BSMT and BSPT) and Pink team (High School Department).

A Fun Run and Zumba Dance Exercise pre-opened the founding anniversary during the Valentine’s Day followed by a Motorcade/Foot Parade around Tuguegarao City Proper, Debate Finals and Bingo Socials on the 20th. The second day activities were Dance Fusion, Flash Mob Dance Competition, Literary Musical Festival and the Awarding of MCNP-ISAP Most Outstanding Students. Employees Association Celebration, Creative Arts and Fashion Show adorned the third day, and a Celebrity Concert, which served as the climax of the foundation celebration.

On the last day of the commemoration, Alternative Learning Experience Seminars and the Search for Campus King and Queen 2017 prevailed. The celebration of the foundation anniversary concluded with an exquisite fireworks display held at the MCNP-ISAP Parking Area.

MIGHTY EAGLES ON THE RUN

Amidst the sweet merriment of Valentine’s Day, a Fun Run and Zumba Dance Exercise pre-opened the foundation celebration. All students and faculty members of the twin institution suited in their team t-shirts and rubber shoes jogged from MCNP-ISAP Grounds to Tuguegarao City Hall passing along Regional Department offices.

As the participants assembled in front of the city hall, a Zumba Dance Exercised was organized led by a distinct Zumba instructor together with the Tribu Agilang Sikat.

PROCESSION OF COLORS

The Tuguegarao City Proper went laden with different colors as competing teams dressed in color-coded t-shirts marched from Cagayan Sports Complex to various national highways and back.

As early as 7:00 am, students assembled at the complex waiting for co-students in traverse from Alimannao to the said location. The Iguig National High School Drum and Lyre Corps graced the parade with band music and the PNP-Tuguegarao maintained peace and order before, during and after the parade.

SPLENDOR IN MAINTENANCE

With brilliant insights and clever rebuttals, Mark John Gonzales, Carmela Marasigan and Argel Davis Corpuz of the White team together with Coach Harold B. Duran fiercely defended their reigning glory from last year’s victory as they won against the pink team during the debate finals held at the Radtech AVR on the 20th of February right after the foot parade.

This year’s final round proposition was “This house believes that the Peace Agreement between the Government and the PCC-NPA be lifted” and was battled through an Asian Parliamentary Type of Debate. Prior to the final round, the Honor Circle    Club officers organized a debate elimination round last February 9-10 at the MCNP-ISAP Rad tech AVR to identify the two debating teams who will clash on the final round.

“I commend everyone for the arguments presented, indeed even me, I must admit that it’s really hard to give arguments with regards to the proposition” – Ms. Joanna May Pagurayan, one of the adjudicators during the final round competition remarked.

Thru the initiative of the Honor Circle Club under the advisorship of Ms. Beverly A. Cannu  and  the Office of the Students Services with  Dean  Aristotle Gonzales, the activity was successful.

LUCK AT FIRST TRY

One highlight of the foundation anniversary is the bingo socials participated by students and teachers alike. It is a game-by-chance relative to the traditional bingo game where a draw of numbers will determine who will luckily bring home the bacon. Prizes includes cash, gadgets and household appliances for blessed players. The highest prize for this season is Php 20,000 as a grade 11 senior high school student took hold of it.

YELLOW TEAM INDEED!

“A crowd of excitement”, phrase that describes the start of the Dance Fusion competition last February 22, during the MCNP-ISAP Founding Anniversaries celebration right after the Eucharistic Mass. Cheers and yells from the supporters of the different teams uplifted the start of the dance fusion competition.

The few weeks’ preparation didn’t hinder the six competing teams to show great performances. With the fair result, the Yellow Team was recognized to be the champion, Green team as the 1st runner up and the white team as the 2nd runner up.

“Masaya kasi worth it lahat ng pagod kasi kasabay nun ay yung review for the semi-finals, and yun nga yung gastos, pamasahe pa.” – Hana Mae Guillermo, a Medical Technology Student said.

HIT BY A CLASH OF TALENTS

The dashing mighty eagles astounded the crowd as they showed off their talents in the literary music festival competition held at the gymnasium on February 23, 2017.

A blast of awesome performances paved the way with confidence and pride of the different competing teams. It was indeed a tough fight among the clashing band but yellow team succeeded as Maebelle Anne Laguatan, BSPT student champ the extemporaneous speech and participants from yellow team also bagged vocal duet contest. Moreover, the pink team predominated in the oration category, green team, who gave a wild dance show won the hip hop dance contest, and blue team rock for their triumph in the vocal solo contest.

This literary musical festival was held in celebration of the 23rd and 20th founding anniversaries of MCNP-ISAP, respectively.

HOISTED AT THE TOP

Jayson P. Dunuan, a graduating BSBA Student was acclaimed to be the only awardee for the Most Outstanding Student of MCNP-ISAP for 2017 during the awarding ceremonies on February 22, 2017 at the MCNP-ISAP Gymnasium.

Mr. Dunuan, together with the other nominees underwent through series of interviews and validations.

A commendable lad from Hungduan, Ifugao graduated as class valedictorian, became a consistent dean’s lister throughout his academic years, engaged also as an active leader to his committed clubs and organization and continued to be great catalyst for sports development.

He will join the regional Search for Top Outstanding Students of the Philippines.

EXHIBITION OF CONCEALED ENDOWMENTS

Employees of MCNP-ISAP shone on the successfully concluded Employees Association Celebration last February 22-23, 2017 at MCNP-ISAP Gymnasium which aimed to strengthen the family-bond harmonious relationship among the teaching staffs and non-teaching in recognition of their long term service in the respective institution.

With the theme “Embracing Transformation and Change through Teamwork”, seven (7) outstanding dedicated employees were awarded during the EA Night celebration for their ten (10) long years of passionate and untiring service in the prestigious institution. Among the nominees were Mr. Albert Malupeng, Driver; Ms. Miriam D.Mamuri, Beadle; Milagros S. Tabulog, MIS Specialist, Clinical Coordinator; Rosemarie G. Tuazon, MSR, Cluster Head of Math and PE and Mr. Arnel P. Narag, RN, MSN, HRM Officer.

Meanwhile, the theme “Upo Kayo, Kami Naman” stunned the EA Day Celebration as each employee showcased their hidden talents arousing the crowd with yells and cheers for their teachers.

“Indeed it is a successful night and day celebration ended with smiles painted on the faces of the employees” – Mr. Arnel P. Narag, HRM Officer said respectively.

INGENUITY PLUS POISE

“Every day is a fashion show and the world is your runway, so always dress your best and walk with confidence”. A creative arts and fashion show competition was held at the gymnasium on February 23.

There were four categories which includes the teen wear, creative attire, long gown and formal attire, and cosplay.

Models of the white team (female) and Pink team (male) won as best models for the teen wear. Red Team (male) and green team (female) models made it as best models in the creative attire category while Yellow Team (Male) and Green Team ( Female) got the victory on Formal and Evening Gown Attire.  With regard to the cosplay, both entries from the blue team simultaneously grasp the award. Ms. Krista Kate Guillermo of the White Team and John Byron Binalon won as Most Promising Models.

THE MOST FLAMBOYANT NIGHT

Exhilarating screams and deafening noises were simultaneously heard as Marcelito Pomoy, Angelica Dela Cruz and Neil Coleta took of the center stage of MCNP-ISAP Gymnasium on February 22.

Prior to the said event, a kilometer long line of students emerged from the gymnasium up to the quadrangle for a chance to view these celebrity performers.

Anonymous students were given the chance to get up close personally with them, to sing, converse and to take photographs. This event as far is the highlight of this foundation anniversary.

CULTURE OF EXTERNAL LEARNING

Joint clubs and organizations pioneered in the conduct of several alternative learning experiences all around the campus on the third day of the founding anniversary- February 23.

These seminars are done every year in line with the celebration of the foundation anniversary aiming to inform, update and present topics acquired outside the four walls of the classroom. Each seminar is divided into various batches to accommodate the numerous students. Certificates were given to participants after each seminar.

EXHIBITION OF BEAUTY, BRAINS, ADVOCACIES AND GOD-GIVEN TALENTS

Thunderous applauses and loud cheers from the crowd punctuated the atmosphere of the gymnasium   when Gabriel Obias of the Radiologic Technology Department and Kate Laman of the Physical Therapy Department transpired as the 2017 Campus King and Queen.

Obias and Laman, with the other 18 candidates were judge per category accordingly. These categories include Production Number, School Uniform, Casual Attire, Formal Attire and Long Gown Competition, Talent and Advocacy. Minor awards like Mr. and Ms. Sophie Apparel, Texter’s Choice Award, and Mr. and Ms. Photogenic were garnered by the deserving candidates.

Janice Kate Gacal and Aldrei Basbas of Yellow team took ownership of the 2nd Runner-up Title. Meanwhile, Angie Lyn Rabajante of Red Team and Jeron Unciano of Green team took hold of the 1st runner-up title.

Two days before the said coronation night, a talent show competition was preliminarily judged at the MCNP-ISAP Amphitheatre II.
