Fontanilla: ‘Orientation is the key in igniting the passion of learners in research

Through the initiatives of the Research Development Center (RDC) headed by Mr. Ryan Fontanilla, the research director of Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines (MCNP) and International School of Asia and the Pacific (ISAP), the twin institutions successfully led a 2-day virtual general research orientation.

The said event was held via Zoom meeting which were attended by MCNP and ISAP students last September 20 and 21, 2021 for ISAP and MCNP students respectively.

The orientation aims to provide an avenue to the students and teachers to engage and familiarize the research processes and institutional research, and inspire students to engage in research.

The program includes presentation of Organizational Structure and Institutional Research Agenda by MCNP and ISAP research coordinators (Engr. Myke Albert Tejada for ISAP, Ma’am Niña Anne Paracad for MCNP.)

It also includes presentation and discussion of College research agenda by different college research focal persons, Library Holdings Orientation by MCNP and ISAP Library representative for the review of related literature.

The program is looking forward for more MCNP-ISAP students to be more aware and have an active engagement in research and development.
